Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic adjustment refers to the pressure or thrust a doctor of chiropractic applies to the spine to release tension in a joint. This technique allows bones and vertebrae to move normally and accelerates the body’s healing process.

Musculoskeletal dysfunction causes mobility issues which leads to pain.

This can occur due to an injury, prolonged immobility (sitting at work/school), repetitive motions (assembly work/lifting), or many other movements which strain the body. We look for the incorrectly moving areas of the body and work to restore normal movement to reduce pain and improve stability which allows you to be at your peak.

From the first time you enter our office, we are your partner in pain relief.

We look at your full medical history and recommend individualized treatment specific to you.

The team at Peak Chiropractic is honored to help you get back to the healthy, active life you deserve.

If you’re suffering from any of these conditions, you would be a perfect fit for chiropractic care.

X-Rays North Plains, OR , United States

X-Rays

With digital and high-frequency equipment, we can take the highest quality radiographs with the lowest exposure to our patients.

One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.

Geriatric Chiropractic Care

At Peak Chiropractic, we provide a wide range of care for senior patients focusing on health maintenance, illness prevention, and injury treatment. Our goal is to see our patients age gracefully and healthfully into their late years.

The most common reason for older adults to seek chiropractic services is due to musculoskeletal pain from loss of mobility. They may also experience pain from the breaking down of hardworking parts of the body. Though this breakdown of our bodies is natural, chiropractic plays an important role in keeping them as strong as possible for as long as possible.

Aging should be exciting. After all, you’ve earned it!

With the right approach to nutrition, exercise, and spinal manipulation, the body can heal itself quicker and maintain vitality well into the future.

We’ve helped patients age more comfortably with treatments resulting in:

  • Relief from muscle, joint, and back pain
  • Higher sense of well-being and energy
  • Increased coordination (reduces falls)
  • Decreased arthritic joint pain
  • Decreased muscle stiffness
  • Less inflammation of soft tissue
  • Better mobility
  • Relief from degenerative disease pains

How is chiropractic care different for older adults?

Health in older patients is nuanced and requires individualized treatment approaches. This is why we work with each of our patients to develop a care plan specifically designed for their needs.

Techniques, including chiropractic adjustments and massage, are very helpful for a variety of common spinal conditions in older adults.

Our goal in caring for older adults is to reduce functional limitations, increase cognitive and physical ability, and provide the tools needed to maintain an active and physical lifestyle.

And the best news?

Chiropractic care can be a safer, less invasive alternative to surgery or injections.

Get the maximum “mileage” out of your spine with chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care is remarkably beneficial for all types of ailments that affect us as we age including sciatica, headaches, back, neck, hip, and knee pain, as well as normal degenerative issues associated with aging.

Shockwave Therapy

PiezoWave
focused pain relief

Introducing the PiezoWave2 and Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT)™ with aptitude to pinpoint the pain and treat at the source.

Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT) is widely used in the treatment of acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons and joints.

MyACT describes the use of acoustic waves to target tissue at varying depths to compress and manipulate tissue resulting in a focused and precise deep tissue massage.

The results of the mechanical stimulus delivered by MyACT can lead to increased circulation and pain relief – key components in the healing process.

Focusing in on your pain
The acoustic waves generated by the PiezoWave2 painlessly pass through the body and converge at a point deep within the soft tissue to produce an intense, extremely short duration compression event. The focused acoustic compression is translated to tissue to provide a massage with pin – point accuracy to the affected area.

Patient guided pain relief
The sources of pain are not always found in the area where the pain seems to be radiating from. This is clinically called referred pain. The distancing of the pain sensation from its source can make treatment more difficult.

Diagnosis of referred pain and the recognition of the originating pain triggering points can be accomplished using the PiezoWave2. Abnormal musculoskeletal tissue can be “flared” with focused MyACT in order to define the areas that require treatment. This process of defining the origins of pain is guided by the patient through verbal feedback to the healthcare professional providing the treatment.

How long does treatment take?

  • A typical PiezoWave2 treatment takes between 10 and 20 minutes
  • Normally, 1-2 treatments per week are performed
  • A total of 3-5 treatments may be necessary before lasting improvement is achieved
  • With acute pain, a single session is often successful

Are there known side-effects of Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy™?
Treatment side-effects are limited to reddened skin and/or minor soreness at the treatment site.

Controlling Pain, Restoring Motion

This unique technology can mechanically create pain reducing stimuli in the body effortlessly, without drugs or surgery. Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT) delivered with the PiezoWave technology utilizes Acoustic Pressure Waves that are directly focused to reach targeted tissue at different depths.

MyACT compresses and manipulates the target tissue with these precise mechanical pressure pulses without any opening of the skin or other stress on the surrounding tissue.

The mechanical stimuli delivered by MyACT results in a variety of scientifically proven mechanisms of action that support the remodeling of the target tissue to its original state.
